substitute filename in bash linux

Posted: 8 March 2013 in English, Ubuntu

recently i wanted to rename all cover.jpg files in a directory to folder.jpg .

To achieve this in bash all that i had to do is :

find . -name 'cover.jpg' -type f -exec bash -c 'mv -f "$1" "${1/cover/folder}"' -- {} \;

all done in pure bash :)
